Who is Qualified to Live in God’s House?
Leviticus 11:45
Responsive Prayer
Leader: Holy God, we do not deserve to be in your tabernacle.
All: We do not deserve to be in your dwelling place. We have not led a blameless life.
Leader: Holy God, we have not walked in your ways.
All: We have not done what is right in your sight Or spoken the truth that you have sealed in our hearts. We have done evil to both those we love and to those we refuse to love as we should.
Leader: Holy God, we have not appreciated that which you have given us.
All: We have not been faithful stewards of that which we have been blessed. And have hoarded that which should be shared with the least of these.
Leader: Holy God, we confess our fallen ways
All: Hear our cry, God of our hope, as we confess that which weighs us down.
Part 2
Luke 14:28
What are the Qualities of Those Who Walk with God?
Ephesians 1:4
Psalm 15:2-5, The Message
Matthew 5:3-11
Responsive Reading
Leader: O God of the highest heaven, you are worthy to be praised with every breath, loved with every faculty of soul, served with every act of life.
All: We were once dead in our sin, having no eyes to see You, no ears to hear You, no taste to relish Your joys, no intelligence to know You.
Leader: O God you have opened our senses to you, and we are now aware of where we fall short.
All: Show us O God how we are to walk in Your ways, we wish to live in Your ways.
Leader: O God, Your Spirit has made us alive! You have brought us into a new world as new creatures! You have loved us, adopted us, and called us Your own.
All: Let us lay aside every sin of this world; Help us to walk with You that we may be salt of the earth and a blessing to all. Amen.
Part 3
What are the Benefits of Walking with God?
One who does these things will never be shaken. (Psalm 15:5b)
Matthew 7:24-25
1 Samuel 2:2
Psalm 18:1-2
John 1:14
Galatians 5:22-23
Responsive Reading
All: Thank you Lord for the Fruit of Love
Leader: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
All: Thank you Lord for the Fruit of Joy
Leader: And so the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; 11 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:10-11)
All: Thank you Lord for the Fruit of Peace
Leader: Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
All: Thank you Lord for the Fruit of Patience
Leader: Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus. (Romans 15:5 NKJV)
All: Thank you Lord for the Fruit of Kindness
Leader: So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so must you do also. (Colossians 3:12-13)
All: Thank you Lord for the Fruit of Goodness
Leader: Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let’s do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. (Galatians 6:9-10)
All: Thank you Lord for the Fruit of Faithfulness
Leader: His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter the joy of your master.’ (Matthew 25:23)
All: Thank you Lord for the Fruit of Gentleness
Leader: But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. (James 3:17 NIV)
All: Thank you Lord for the Fruit of Self-control
Leader: For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:5-8 NIV)
All: Against such things there is no law.

GOD ANSWERS MY PRAYERS
Psalm 40: 1-4
EM BOUNDS: I think Christians fail so often to get answers to their prayers because they do not wait long enough on God. They just drop down and say a few words, and then jump up and forget it and expect God to answer them. Such praying always reminds me of the small boy ringing his neighbor's door-bell, and then running away as fast as he can go.
I WILL TELL EVERYONE
Psalm 40: 5-12
EM BOUNDS: Four things let us ever keep in mind: God hears prayer, God heeds prayer, God answers prayer, and God delivers by prayer. David celebrated this- God answered his prayer, and we assume he answered it in a way that David prayed that he would OSWALD CHAMBERS: Whenever the insistence is on the point that God answers prayer, we are off the track. The meaning of prayer is that we get hold of God, not of the answer.
SO, I WILL KEEP PRAYING!

“I have been accustomed to call this book, I think not inappropriately, An Anatomy of the Soul; for there is not an emotion of which anyone can be conscious that is not here represented as in a mirror.” -John Calvin
“The other parts of Scripture contain the commandment which God enjoined his servants to announce to us. But here the prophets themselves seeing they are exhibited to us speaking to God, and laying open all their inmost thoughts and affections, call or rather draw, each of us to the examination of himself in particular, in order that none of the many infirmities to which we are subject, and of the many vices with which we abound, may remain concealed."-John Calvin

Jamie Arpin-Ricci, One of the most important values in the Bible- The midrash- Ancient commentary in on the O.T. says, “All that is written in the Torah was written for the sake of peace.” “Shalom is what love looks like in the flesh. The embodiment of love in the context of a broken creation, shalom is a hint at what was, what should be, and what will one day be again. Where sin disintegrates and isolates, shalom brings together and restores. Where fear and shame throw up walls and put on masks, shalom breaks down barriers and frees us from the pretense of our false selves.”

Galatians 5:19-21
Don’t Quit!
Galatians 6:9
"This precept is especially necessary because we are naturally lazy in the duties of love, and many little stumbling-blocks hinder and put off even the well-disposed. We meet with many unworthy, many ungrateful people. The vast number of the needy overwhelms us; we are drained by paying out on every side. Our warmth is damped by the coldness of others. Finally, the whole world is full of hindrances which turn us aside from the right path. Therefore Paul does well to confirm our efforts, so that we do not faint through weariness." -John Calvin
"What makes authentic disciples is not visions, ecstasies, biblical mastery of chapter and verse, or spectacular success in the ministry, but a capacity for faithfulness. Buffeted by the fickle winds of failure, battered by their own unruly emotions, and bruised by rejection and ridicule, authentic disciples may have stumbled and frequently fallen, endured lapses and relapses, gotten handcuffed to the fleshpots and wandered into a far country. Yet, they kept coming back to Jesus." -Brennan Manning
