Who is Qualified to Live in God’s House?

Leader: Holy God, we do not deserve to be in your tabernacle.

All: We do not deserve to be in your dwelling place. We have not led a blameless life.

Leader: Holy God, we have not walked in your ways.

All:  We have not done what is right in your sight  Or spoken the truth that you have sealed in our hearts. We have done evil to both those we love and to those we refuse to love as we should.

Leader:  Holy God, we have not appreciated that which you have given us.

All:  We have not been faithful stewards of that which we have been blessed. And have hoarded that which should be shared with the least of these.

Leader:  Holy God, we confess our fallen ways

All:  Hear our cry, God of our hope, as we confess that which weighs us down.

What are the Qualities of Those Who Walk with God?

 Leader:  O God of the highest heaven, you are worthy to be praised with every breath, loved with every faculty of soul, served with every act of life.

All:  We were once dead in our sin, having no eyes to see You, no ears to hear You, no taste to relish Your joys, no intelligence to know You.

Leader:  O God you have opened our senses to you, and we are now aware of where we fall short.

All:  Show us O God how we are to walk in Your ways, we wish to live in Your ways.

Leader:  O God, Your Spirit has made us alive! You have brought us into a new world as new creatures! You have loved us, adopted us, and called us Your own.

All:  Let us lay aside every sin of this world; Help us to walk with You that we may be salt of the earth and a blessing to all. Amen.

Leader:  So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so must you do also. (Colossians 3:12-13)

All:  Thank you Lord for the Fruit of Goodness

Leader:  Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary.  So then, while we have opportunity, let’s do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. (Galatians 6:9-10)

All:  Thank you Lord for the Fruit of Faithfulness

Leader:  His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter the joy of your master.’ (Matthew 25:23)

All:  Thank you Lord for the Fruit of Gentleness

Leader:  But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. (James 3:17 NIV)

All:  Thank you Lord for the Fruit of Self-control

Leader:  For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.  For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:5-8 NIV)
